A visiter, à commander, à porter.

So… first post on the new PIQTO Blog. Since the launch of the new website and collection a lot of interesting stuff has been going on – times are good and the future bright.
Let’s start with a little brandnew interview for the new edition of the Streetwear Today magazine. Here it is…

Who are you?
I’m Hugo Hoppmann a 21-years-old graphic designer from Cologne/Germany, currently studying Visual Communications at ECAL in Lausanne/Switzerland.
I founded PIQTO in 2005 with the plan to push my work further and to present my stuff, my aesthetic and my ideas of good design to a wider audience.
PIQTO is a one-man-business and my playground. I do everything from the designs, over the photos, to the creation of the website.

What is it all about?
It’s about a deep love for fashion, design, architecture and the arts – a love for connecting with interesting people from around the world throughout my passion.
With PIQTO I try to creat a certain aesthetic presenting the beauty of simplicity.

Where do you come from?
My passion for graphic design is probably resulting from my parents vocations, who always mixed craft with the arts themselves, having a great circle of good friends from both areas and with both backgrounds.
Without the tremendous support and love of my friends and family I would have never been abled to live my dream and turn my hobby into a profession. I’m very thankful.

What are you up to?
My second year at ECAL starts soon, before that I’m doing an internship at Bureau Mirko Borsche. The rest of the time is saved for heavy chilling with my homies!
In 2008 I started with a couple of good friends our own footballteam PIQTO UNITED, which is evolving greatly and which is also a project I try to push further in the future.

What do you think?
Work hard, party hard.

What’s the news?
The new website is now up and running featuring the latest PIQTO collection containing fourteen brand-new shirts for boys and girls and a bunch of tote bags.

What’s the plan?
My plan is to learn more and more about the business, to be able to make a lot more collections in the future, to push the boundaries, and to see PIQTO be sold in the finest shops around the world.
– Sky is the limit.

How can people get your stuff?
Directly from PIQTO.COM or LIMITEES.COM. (Or in selected stores to be announced soon.)

— Stay tuned,
Hugo
When I designed the MEINE Shirt I wanted to give a small but strong statement of dedication to that one techno track that made a lot of people, including me and my friends, pretty happy.
Later, some two months after the release I contacted the man behind MEINE. Cologne based musician DASO. He happily accepted and received my gift while stopping by at my house on a warm summer day in august.
We had a little nice conversation and he promised me to wear one day while having a gig. Last friday the time was right…

I couldn’t make it myself but my sister shot these pics and told me of a great night with brilliant music, an excellent atmosphere and a good-shaped DASO playing MEINE…
